    Vehicle Details
Offered for sale is a very original 1923 Ford Model T Touring Sedan. Note: Mileage is show as 00 as this car does not have a speedometer. I purchased the car in 2019 to enjoy during my retirement. I was impressed with how original the car was. The car has not been modified or molested. The car is pretty much in the condition as when it left the assembly line. The car was an AACA Senior National First Prize Winner in 1973 and has apparently had a good home ever since. The car drove and rode nice when I purchased it but I had trouble on hot days keeping the temperature in the normal range. I replaced the radiator with a Brassworks Flat tube radiator which I was told was the best. The coolant temperature now stays in the normal range on the motometer under all driving conditions. The original radiator from the car is included with the sale and has the 1973 AACA Senior National First Prize Winner badge on it. I didn't even try to have it cleaned. I just replaced it so it may have just needed to be cleaned. I did a number of repairs to improve reliability and drivability. I replaced the parking brake quadrant, parking paw and spring. The rear brake shoes have been replaced and rear axle seals updated with new type seals. The carburetor has been rebuilt. #2 cylinder had a slight rod knock which was eliminated with a remanufactured connecting rod. I was so impressed with the remanufactured connecting rods with x-groove for oiling I replaced the other 3 connecting rods in March of this year. The engine is so smooth you can hear the solid lifters. The crankshaft still accepted standard bearings. I didn't like the way the rear bearing plate looked so the starter was also replaced with a remanufactured unit in March of 2021. The fuel bowl on the bottom of the fuel tank dripped so it has been replaced. The fuel tank is clean inside and out. Everything works on the car.... What little bit there is. Both the battery and magneto ignition work, the lights, charging system, doors open and close smooth, the top goes up and down, etc. This is just a nice, solid, good running 1923 Model T Touring Car complete with side curtains, tool kit with jack, air pump and Ford oil can. I purchased two bags for the side curtains and side curtains, fuel gauge (stick) and tools fit right under the back seat. This car has been driven so there is the normal wear around the hood latches and someone has done some little spot touch up. The actual body still has a mirror type finish. The fender, running board and skirts have some oxidation in the paint but it still shines up great as you can see in the pictures. There is no rust or bad places on the car anywhere. The top is nice, the seats are good and the engine fires right up without fail. If you have never driven a Model T, the transmission is a 2 speed with reverse and is operated with pedals on the floor. I live in a rural area and have an 1/8 mile lane that I drive the car down to get the mail. I usually take a little spin once at the end of the lane and the car attracts attention. I will be happy to give driving lessons. You may wonder why I am letting this great car go. I have a grandson in the Marines and is now stationed in California. I live in Maryland. My wife and I have always wanted to drive an old car down Route 66 and the Model T is just to old for the trip. My grandson is up for a promotion in the fall so I better get ready now. The car is sold without warranty, expressed or otherwise but if you would like a Model T you can enjoy driving, this is probably the one. The car also comes with a reproduction operators, parts and service manual as well as an original parts book. I have a book with all the receipts for items I have purchased. I use a wireless bicycle taillight for brake light and turn signals and it is included with the sale. The light attached to the bottom the spare tire with a strap and the control mounts on the steering wheel. If you would like to see and take a ride in the car before you bid just contact seller to make arrangements. If you would like to send an agent, that is fine. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. Thank you for your consideration.
