    Vehicle Details
Good condition CUCV. I've owned this truck for more than 10 years and have only put about 4,000 miles on it. The current mileage of 22,728 is real. The truck came from Beaufort, NC and is mostly original. All that I've done to the truck is replace the factory tires which had flat spots with Goodyear Wranglers, change all the fluids, new shocks, new weather stripping on both doors, new engine belts, replace the rear window with a tinted and sliding new one, and new glow plugs. For those not familiar with these trucks they were built with the strongest components GM had: 6.2 diesel, 4.56 gears, 14 bolt rear differential with a Detroit locker, Dana 60 front, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, NP 208 chain drive transfer case, and the truck is rated at 1 1/4 tons. When I was in the Army I fell in love with them and bought one when I retired. I used it for firewood and driving backroads in the evening and that's about it. When I first got it I was slowly driving on a too-narrow trail and on a tight turn I managed to hit a tree with the passenger side door and bed. The damage is shown in the pictures. It is just cosmetic but still bothers me ten years later. There is minor rust in the rocker panels as shown in the pictures but that is it. The truck has always been kept in my shop since I've owned it. The truck starts right up and runs smoothly. The 4-wheel drive and manual hubs operate as they should with no issues. Here is what is wrong with it: The windshield wipers operate fine but usually stop when they are pointed up. The fuel gauge is accurate only until you get below about 3/4 of a tank and then is erratic. The Volt gauge recently stopped working. The driver's side mirror is held on with Gorilla tape. This is a very good, simple truck. Roll up windows, manual locks, no A/C but the heat and defrost work great, and no high tech electronics to fail. Fold up troop seats in the bed are always a hit with the kids. I'm selling it because I no longer use it. I bet last year I put less than 100 miles on it and it's probably time for someone else to enjoy it. If taken care of this truck will last a lifetime and the price is less than most used UTV's.
