Antique Masonic Knights Templar Sword & Scabbard. "Henderson Ames Co." Very nice authentic very old Knights Templar, Masonic Fraternal Commandery or Ceremonial Sword with Scabbard made sometime between 1850 and 1923. I do not see a date that it was made on the sword. The blade is extensively engraved on both sides including the name of the owner William J. Humphrey. The base of the blade near the handle is engraved The Henderson Ames Co., Kalamazoo, Mich.The handle is Ivory in color and features an intricate design embossed on the bottom. At the top is a very detailed knight's head pommel. It is inlaid with a black cross, adorned with on the other side with an elaborate Red Cross with Blue in the base of the crown decoration.The matching Scabbard is also nicely detailed and has an the owners name also engraved, a Red Cross and Blue in the base of the crown and more.The sword easily slides in and out of the scabbard. The sword measures approximately 37 1/2 inches including the handle. The blade alone measures is approximately 31 inches. It is in Very Good Condition for its age. The Sword is super clean. Any wear on the sword and/or scabbard and its patina are due to age.
